HEAG Südhessische Energie AG (HSE), Darmstadt (D)

The HEAG Südhessische Energie AG (HSE) is the supplier of electricity, gas, water and district heating in the southern part of the federal country Hessen in Germany. The supply area of the HSE covers 2 000 square km. The 20 kV electricity distribution network and the low voltage network serves 175 500 house connections, provides a peak load of 750 MW, an annual energy consumption of 4.055 TWh. The HSE AG is interested to support the RTD work for novel ICT solutions to provide smart distribution tasks. HSE provides the needed installations in its network and the trial operations. After finishing the RTD work HSE AG will deploy the results in its supply area.

  • Selection of clients of the ICT infrastructure stage 1 (project scope)
  • Definition of the data to be communicated for performing the three pillars of smart distribution
  • Installation of smart meters and RTUs in the client's properties
  • Lead in commissioning and trial operation
  • Lead in system integration
  • Transition to continuous operation

Bernhard Fenn (1967)
studied electrical engineering at the Technical University (TU) Darmstadt and started his business career 1993 at HEAG Versorgungs AG, Darmstadt, Germany (power supply company) as a technical officer in the area network. Mr. Fenn became head of the network management in 2004. Since 2007, Mr. Fenn is attorney of HEAG Südhessische Energie AG (HSE) and HSE Netz AG. Since 2009, Mr. Fenn is also technical director of the NATURpur Institute for Climate and environmental protection gGmbH within the HSE Group. Mr. Fenn is the responsible coordinator of the project Web2Energy.

Kirstin Chesi (1965)
is the business assistant of Mr. Bernhard Fenn since 11 years at the HEAG Südhessische Energie AG (HSE). Mrs. Kirstin Chesi supports Mr. Bernhard Fenn as responsible leiter of the Consortiums and is the contact for organizational questions.
